Tamara Zec, MD

Tamara Zec, MD is a board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in Neurobiology and Molecular Biology. She obtained her medical doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health. She completed her psychiatry residency training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Dr. Zec has trained at the Western New England Psychoanalytic Institute in New Haven, CT, and the Florida Psychoanalytic Institute in Coral Gables, FL. She has extensive training in the areas of insight-oriented psychotherapy and practices from a developmental and analytic perspective. This approach offers a more thorough assessment of an individual’s needs and allows for more nuanced treatment recommendations.
Some areas of expertise include perinatal maternal mental health, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, life stressors and difficult role transitions.
